What is included in the Barcelona Card?

Free Public Transport

With Barcelona Card you can enjoy the beauty of Unlimited Public Transport. You will have free access on Busses, Metro, Airport Train, Airport Metro and Bus line. The area covered from public transport is the entire Zone 1

This include the whole city centre and all the main touristic attractions area.
The following image rapresent the entire Zone 1 and the Metro lines which covered thi Zone.Pay attention that the transport pass doesn’t work on Night Bus and on unusual means of transport (for example Montjuic cable car, Blue Tram, Barcelona Bus Turistic).

The main activity is to spread cultural knowledge creating exhibitions and cultural activities. So here you can enjoy the visit in different exhibitions about photography, science, art, technology, journalisme and philosophy.  

Opening hours: 

– Tuesday to Sunday, 11am – 8 pm

– Closed: Monday, not holidays, 24-25/12, 31/12, 1/01

Fundació Antoni Tápies

Cultural centre and museum dedicated to the life and works of the painter Antoni Tápies. The principal purpose of this centre is to promote the knowledge of modern and contemporary art through exhibitions, symposia and lectures. 

Opening hours:

– Tuesday to Saturday 10am-7pm, Friday until 9pm and Sunday 10am – 3pm. 

– Closed on Mondays except public holidays. 

Fundació Joan Miró

Created by Joan Miró with its own work and with the aim to create an intenationally recognized centre in Barcelona and to spread the collection. Today organize temporary exhibitions of 20 and 21st century artists. 

Opening hours: 

– November to March: Tuesday-Saturday  10am-6pm, Sunday 10am-3pm

– April to october: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-8pm, Sunday 10am-6pm

– Closed on Mondays except public holidays. 

Museu d’Art Contemporary

Macba contains the biggest collection of modern and contemporary art in town. Here you can find collection from the abstractions of the fifties, till the european pop, avant garde of the sixties and seventies. 

Opening hours:

– Working days 11am-7:30pm, Saturday 10am-8pm, Sunday and holidays 10am-3pm.

– Closed on Tuesday

Museu nacional de Catalunya

Built to host International Exhibitions in 1929. Today there are Romanesque painting  rappresentative artists of Catalan Modernisme, european Rainassance and Barroque artists. 

Opening hours 

– October to April: Tuesday to Saturday 10am-6pm. Sunday and public holidays 10am-3pm. 

– May to September: Tuesday to Saturday 10am-8pm, Sunday and public holidays 10am-3pm. 

– Closed on Monday escept public holidays. 

Museu de Picasso

The Picasso museum is completed dedicated to the artist. It is full of artwork from the formative years of the artist. The fundació  reveals artist deep relationship with the city shaped during his adolescence. 

Opening hours:

– Monday: 10am-5pm, Tuesday to Sunday  9am-8:30pm, Thursday: 9am-9:30pm  

– Closed on 1/1, 5/1, 5/13, 5/20, 6/24, 12/25

El Born Centre de cultura

It is a space created for the city with the aim to encourage and promote local and national events. There are exhibitions halls and a space for small scale exhibitions. An archeological site offers pictures of Barcelona’s daily life in 18th century. 

Opening hours:

– March to September: Tuesday to Sunday 10am-8pm

– Closed on Mondays except bank holidays, 12/24-25, 12/31, 1/1

MUHBA El Call

The starting point to discover Jewish’s medeival history and community in Barcelona. It shows the important role played Jewish in the city’s history and their cultural characterized by universal value and with a strong history to share. 

Opening hours: 

– Tuesady to Friday 11am-2pm. Saturday and Sunday 11am-7pm. 

– Closes on Monday, New Year’s day, 1st May, 24th June, and 25th December. 

Museu Etnològic

In this museum you can find a wide range of african, asian and american culture and arts. 
In this museum there are objects with a strong cultural value for non-western people in order to discover different cultures heritage and lifestyle. 

Opening hours

– Tuesday to Saturday 10am-7pm. Wednesday 10am-8pm. Sunday and holidays 10am-2:30pm.

– Closes on Monday, 1/1, 1/6, 5/1, 6/10, 25 and 26 december. 

Museum Frèderic Mares

This museum preserves the collection created by Frederic Marés and it is part of the Barcelona’s heritage. The sculpture through his life created hispanic religious sculptures collection which, today, is shown in this museum.

– Tuesday to Saturday 10am-7pm. Sunday and holidays 11am-8pm. 

Museu de Modernisme

Museu de Modernisme contains the most important furniture from the Catalan Art Nouveau period. Here people can find pieces designed by Gaudi, Busquets and Homar and sculptures by different important artist.

Opening hours: 

– Monday to Friday: 10:30am-2pm and 4pm-7pm

– Closed:  Saturday. Sunday, August and Holidays

Monastir de Santa Maria

It has 700 year of history and it rappresents the monastic life of the poor Barcelona’s clare who lived there. Here you can find different collections about artreligious works and objects from everyday life belonging to clare.

– Tuesday to Saturday 10am-7pm, Sunday and public holidays 10am-8pm. 

– Closed on 1/1, 5/1, 6/24, 12/25

Caixa Forum

CaixaForum is an art gallery and social cultural center. Here take place different exhibitions of modern and contemporary art of different artists. It shows other thematics like history, cinema, music,ecc. 

Opening hours:

– From Monday to Sunday 10am-8pm, on wednesday during July and August 10am-11pm. 

– Closed: 12/25, 1/1, 1/6

CosmoCaixa

CosmoCaixa is an innovative science. It has the aim to spread knowledge about science and nature taking care about children and teenagers, but also adult will find their place and enjoy their tour.

– From Monday to Sunday 10am-8pm. 

Jardín Botánico

Located in Montjuic it contains a wide range of typical mediteranean plants grouped according with thei geographic provenience. Here you are free to decide your tour by yourself and choose your tour.

– November, December and January, Monday to Sunday, from 10 to 18h.

– February, March, Monday to Sunday, from 10 to 18h.

– April, May, September and October: Monday to Sunday, from 10 to 19h.

– June, July and August: Monday to Sunday, from 10 to 20h.

Museu del Disseny

Here you can find different contemporary collections and exhibitions. From product design to fashion and graphic design. Exhibitions are always different so check the website to know the current exhibitions. 

Opening hours:

– Tuesday to Sunday: 10am – 8pm 

– Closed: 1/1, 5/1, 6/24, 12/25 and Mondays. 

Museu de Ciencès Naturals

During the 19th Century a natural history collection was donated to the city of Barcelona. In this museum you can find the fauna, flora and geology of Catalonia. It is a way to discover how the enviroment is chainging.

Opening hours:

– From Tuesday to Saturday: 10am-7pm

– Sunday and holidays: 10am-8m

Museu de la Musica

This museum host one of the most important Instruments collection and other different objects related with the music world. There are 20 different rooms with instruments from every time and every place, is one of the most outstanding collection.

– Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10am-6pm. Thursday 10am-9pm. Saturday and Sunday 10am-7pm

Museu de Xocolata

This museum gives you the possibility to try a journey through the origins of choccolate. Chocolate has played an important economic and social role in Barcelona and today it is recognized  with this amazing museum.

– Summer season: Monday to Saturday 10am-8pm. 

Museu del Modernisme

This museum is completely deicated to Catalan Modernisme art. It was built because at that time all Modernist expression were misunderstood and there was a strong preference for new artistic trends.

– Monday to Friday 10:30am-2pm, 4pm-7pm

– Closed: Saturday, Sunday and August. 

Museu Egipci de Barcelona

It was open in 1914 after a donation from a private collector to Barcelona city. The collection increased during the years and today in the museum there are 10 different rooms about every daily egyptian life. 

Opening hours: 

– Winter seasonMonday to Friday, from 10h to 14h and from 16h to 20h. Saturday from 10h to 20h. Sunday from 10h to 14h.

– Summer Season: Monday to Saturday from 10am to 8pm. Sunday from 10am to 2pm
